Deputy Principal Years 4-6
On Thursday, 5 June, a small group of our Year 6 students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Brisbane North Youth Parliament, held at Queensland Parliament House.
This event brought together students from across the region to experience the workings of government, debate real-world issues, gaining a deeper appreciation for civics engagement and democracy and learn how young voices can make a difference in shaping the future of Queensland. Our students represented our school with confidence and enthusiasm, speaking passionately on topics and issues that matter to them.
Congratulations to all participating students on their efforts and outstanding representation of themselves and Aspley State School. A special thank you also goes to our dedicated teachers and parents who supported them throughout the experience.
Senior Athletics Carnival
The much-anticipated Senior Athletics Carnival was held on Wednesday and Thursday for our students in Years 3-6. Students participated in a variety of age-appropriate athletic events including running races, relays, high and long jump, shot put and ball games. Students were very active in displaying their energy, enthusiasm and team spirit throughout the carnival while competing for house points.
Congratulation to Mitchell House house for coming out the winner at the end of the two days of friendly competition.
Thank you to the Aspley State School community for coming to the events. Your presence and cheering from the sidelines to celebrate their efforts and achievements doesn’t go unnoticed.

GALA Days
GALA Days are now complete for the Year 5 and 6 students for another year. Students loved attending with their teams to compete in Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball and Netball each week.
Many of our teams were lucky enough to either make it to the finals of their sport, or come away from the competition with many wins under their belts. Well done to our students for their representation of Aspley SS at these sporting competitions.
