Respectful Relationships in Education Term 2

Respectful Relationships in Education – Term 2 – Week 5 – 8

Kyle Rankine - RRE

Prep – Recognizing Positive Actions and Fairness in Play

Students are learning to notice and practice positive behaviours such as helping others and sharing. They are also exploring what fairness looks like during group play, encouraging kindness and cooperation from an early age.

Year 1 – Being Responsible and Fairness

Year 1 students are focusing on understanding responsibility for their actions and learning about fairness in their interactions, especially during group activities and play. These lessons help build respect and accountability in social settings.

Year 2 – Friendships, Interactions, and Recognising Strengths

Students are focusing on how to build and maintain positive friendships through respectful interactions. They are also discovering their personal strengths and how these can help them in social situations and learning.

Year 3/4 – Online Boundaries, Sportsmanship, and Communication in Games

Continuing from previous learning, Years 3 and 4 are deepening their understanding of setting boundaries online. They’re also exploring key social skills such as sportsmanship and effective communication during games—skills that promote respect, teamwork, and fair play.

Year 5/6 – Online Safety, Respectful Behaviour, and Fair Play in Games

Students in Years 5 and 6 are building a deeper understanding of how to stay safe online and interact respectfully with others. They are learning to set clear personal boundaries both online and in person, and to use effective communication skills. As games become more complex, they are also exploring what fair play looks like in challenging situations, helping them develop empathy, resilience, and strong teamwork skills as they move towards greater independence.
